Skincare: Winter Moisturizers

Greetings peoples ^^ I hope the week is going super well for you all…personally  I can’t wait for the weekend as I’m really itching to see the new iron man movie as it came out in Australia two days ago T__T….darn my work schedule to heck! T__T

Anyways, enough of my whinging, today’s post  is going to be all about skincare for winter. More specifically, ideal body moisturisers I have found to be most effective during the dry, freezing cold months of winter, as I’m sure like the rest of us, your skin most likely drys up to a surface equivalent of a prune. So here are my favourite moisturizers I use during the Winter.

First up is the original Nivea moisturizer. For those of you who are familiar with this classic item, the texture is quite thick and can take quite a bit of effort to really absorb the skin, but once it’s absorbed, it will leave your skin leaving really moisturized and supple. Ideal for most skin types.

Secondly, is another Nivea product, which is the Nivea Soft Intensive moisturizing cream. This is pretty much the same as the original, however the formula on this one is  much easier to apply, and requires much less effort to absorb into the skin. Highly recommended if you have dry-very dry skin.nivea-soft-intensive-moisturising-cream-200ml

Third, is the Dove Intensive Moisturizer, for dry skin. This is super, duper moisturizing, the texture is similar to the Nivea soft lotion, so there is virtually no effort needed to absorb it into the skin. Best applied after a warm shower, as the pores on your skin are still open, so it will be easier to absorb. For those with dry skin, the body milk and indulgent nourishment may be best for you. Those with extra-dry skin, (the one at the forefront of the picture below) the intensive nourishment for…yes, extra dry skin is for you. Go fresh nourishment and silky nourishment is ideal for those with normal skin.

Fourth, is the Lush Vanilla Dee-Lite Body lotion. I have used this before, and aside from the nice, lovely vanilla smell, this too easily absorbs into my dry skin. It’s like super-nice-smooth-skin in a bottle. Great for most skin types.

Fifth is a one for those of the sensitive skin type. The Aveeno Active Naturals Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion. As it is fragrance free, this is also great for those with itchy/irritated and even extra dry skin, while being incredibly moisturizing at the same time. As my skin is not of the irritated/sensitive variety, I used the Daily Moisturizing Lotion instead.

And that concludes this post. I hope this post was helpful to you in some way or form. If you have any other recommendations for other moisturizers you think are good for the cold winter months, feel free to leave your opinions in the comment box below. Otherwise, I shall see you in the next post ^^

    • Your welcome, glad to be of some inspiration ^^. I would suggest trying the newer range of Nivea as it’s much easier to apply to the skin than the original which was a real pain to apply for me >.<
