Hello my lovelies, I hope the week is treating you well and good. I was inspired to do this post after watching quite a few handbag organization videos on YouTube and so I thought I’d share with you how I changed my handbag from a cluttered dump to clean and organized.
Firstly, throw out all old/torn receipts, lolly wrappers, and whatever other random bits of paper that you’re convinced just magically appeared in your bag and straight into the bin. If you have small crumbs, dust or fluff, grab either a lint roller or a section of sticky tape and use it to pick up those unwanted little critters.
Second, is your purse. Another item subject to overflowing receipts, paper, discount cards and goodness knows what else. Again, throw out the unwanted receipts, and put away the important ones you need for tax purposes. Now time to tackle those discount cards you’ve been piling up, by sorting out which ones you use the most and put aside the ones you use the least…you’ll probably be surprised as to how many you have ( I know I was >.>).
Take the cards you use the least and put them in a small cardholder or any type of small purse that can fit a bunch cards. The one I use is leather, but you can find plenty of cheap ones at all good accessory stores.
Now, for those important items such as your drivers license, key-card and credit card (or cards if you’re like me) and place these items in a discreet area of your wallet where no-one will notice (except you of course :p). This is handy for those with who have a purse that zips all the way around, or (like me) you have a wallet that’s a bi-fold (meaning it opens like a book).
If you’re wallet is not as discreet, try using a wrist-let type purse instead as a majority of them have credit card slots inside making it a perfect hiding place for those hard to replace cards. Use the rest of the available card slots for those discount cards.
Next up, are your car keys. If you’re someone who has half a million keys that open half a million doors, you might want to get yourself a key wallet; preferably one that has one large ring and several little small hooks on the other side.
The large ring you can use to put your car keys on, and the small hooks you can put house keys, garage keys…and every other key you have. If most of your keys look the same, try getting them coloured in different colours such as green: house keys, yellow: garage keys etc…not only will it look good, it’ll also keep you organized as well.
Now for the make-up bag. Pick out the items you use the most for touch-ups such as lip balm, lipstick, compact mirror for example and place them into a smaller size make-up bag. Not only will your bag feel lighter, but you’ll be able to navigate easily around your bag alot easier. For those other items (you know, when TOM comes to visit) you can put these in either a small little clutch, or if your bag has a back zip pocket, you can place them in there as it’s much more discreet, and well hidden thanks to the contents in your handbag.
As for my iPhone, I don’t usually put a case on it is usually in my bag for a majority of the day, however when I do use a case, it is usually this cute little orange one with a cat lying down at the back of the case. Super cute ^^. If you carry an iPad with you on a regular basis, invest in a good quality cover that will keep it safe and protected.
And that’s pretty much how I organized by handbag. I hope these organization tips helped you in any way, and if you have any other ideas or suggestions on how you personally organize your handbag, feel free to leave them in the comments below or you can tweet them to me on Twitter @meiakane.
See you all in my next post.

Welcome, one and all to my skinny jean haul. I’m sure most of you have at least 2 (or more) pairs of this closet staple in your wardrobes that you love to wear because you can pair them with pretty much anything and everything, and they’ll always look fabulous. Honestly whoever came up with skinny jeans is a legendary hero.
Anyways, a couple of weeks ago one of my favourite pairs officially died….T___T so after some time mourning, I
reluctantly dragged myself practically skipped with joy to my nearest denim store and started going through the racks, and ended up with three pairs ^^. Clearly I’m not obsessed here >.>.
First off the rack is the Riders by Lee Skinny Jean ($89.95 AUS) in this oh-so-nice navy colour. I chose this one because 1) it’s mid-rise which means if I’m out and have been eating a bit too much…this will hide the evidence, and second, it will also keep my waist warm for the rest of the Winter.
Second is the Second Skin Super Skinny Jean from Just Jeans. They are more on the low rise end, but they’re still pretty comfortable for me to wear. Plus they’re lightweight so I’ll be wearing these quite a bit in the early months of spring.
The third pair is kind of a new…venture for me. I have always wanted to wear shiny vinyl leggings but I can never seem to find an occasion to wear them. So, I decided to go for the next best thing. Wax coated skinny jeans, which is pretty much the result of vinyl leggings meet skinny jeans, and I must say, I’m really enjoying this pair that I got from Portmans (Brooklyn Skinny Jeans: $79.95).
And that’s pretty much it. I know these jeans don’t look terribly exciting, however, I personally like to go for black and dark blue wash jeans as they tend to go with pretty much anything and everything in my closet due to their versatility. If you have any other suggestions or personal favourites, feel free to leave them in the comments below. See you all in the next post.
Hello everyone, I know it’s been a while since I posted anything (busy schedule >.<) but I hope you are all doing well, and having a fabulous week wherever in the world you are.
Welcome to my (mini) fashion haul post. As you can probably tell this is going to be a mini post as it is still Winter over here in the land down under, so being the genius I am, I’ve decided to hold out on (which I think I’m doing ok so far??) buying any new (as in a lot of) clothes until Spring and only buying items that need replacing in my closet.
Item One: Sportsgirl Cotton Jumper (beige/grey/black) ($69.95)
Item Two: Portmans Blouse (purple) ($49.95)
Item Three: Temt Shorts (beige) ($29.95)
Item Four: Temt Collared Blouse (blue) ($19.95)
And that’s my haul. I hope you enjoyed this post and if it inspired you to go out for a bit of shopping…I’m more than happy to help ^^. I’ll see you all in the next post.
Hello, Hello one and all, I hope you all having a fabulous week doing whatever joyful activity it is you’re into.
Today, I thought I’d do a post devoted to my own make-up essentials that I carry with me in my make-up bag on a daily basis. Firstly, I will preface this blog by mentioning that it has taken me quite a bit of trial and error in terms of working out what items I put into my small make-up bag. I may carry a small one now but I used to carry a somewhat larger sized make-up bag back in the day….>.>.
So here is what I carry in my make-up bag:
Firstly is my trusty MAC Moisture Select Cover Concealer. It hides the redness around my nose and any slightly dark areas on my face effectively; especially if I’ve had a nice hot shower after a good sweat session at the gym, as my skin is feeling fresh, and this concealer also adds a little extra brightness to my face.
Second is my Scandal BB Cream Compact. If I’m going out somewhere after work (or the gym) I will keep this with me and use it in conjunction with my concealer, as the BB Cream will give my face that nice fresh/barely there look while hiding any slight imperfections ie: blemishes etc.
Thirdly is my MAC Gel Eyeliner pot. I really love this eyeliner as it holds well and doesn’t smudge. A little goes a long way for me. I use this with my Scandal eye liner brush and it never fails me.
Fourth is the famous MAC Paint Pot in ”Painterly”. I never used to be fan of eye primers as my eyelids aren’t oily, but I got this anyway for those ”emergency/last min outings”. I am now in love with it…especially with my gel eyeliner.
Fifth is my other favourite eyeliner (which I sometimes double as an all over eyeshadow) by Clio, which is part of the ”gel espresso” range. Teamed with my gel eyeliner, it looks simple yet classy.
Next is my Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Mascara. Not only is it designed to give the appearance of fuller lashes, it also helps lash growth as well, giving a light and natural look to the lashes.
As it’s Winter here in Australia, I tend to skip on the Powder and Bronzers as I prefer to keep my skin moisturized, and powders tend to dry my skin out a little more than I like during the colder months.
However, during summer, when I do use Bronzers or Powder, I use the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Light which gives my skin a nice natural finish. And MAC Bronzing Powder in Golden for a natural sun-kissed look.
I hope you all enjoyed this post. Do you have a similar set up to me or something different?. Feel free to share them in the comments below, or you can tweet them to me on twitter @meiakane. Otherwise, I’ll see you in my next post.

Hello one and all. Hope you are all having a fabulous week so far.
I recently just did a Autumn/Winter post, so in the spirit of fairness, this is going to be a Spring/Summer edition version.
First up is the classic and ever so practical maxi-dress. They are super light, stylish, and can be worn either night or day. I have to admit the first time I saw maxi-dresses I wasn’t too impressed by them and took them for “old lady” type dresses, BUT…but but but…after receiving one from my cousin one year for Christmas a couple of years ago, I wore it out one day and pretty much fell in love with it. Also, the price ranges for maxi dresses are of a quite large variety, from cheap and cheerful to pretty darn expensive. I bought one of my maxi-dresses from SES Clothing Store for about $13 (it was on sale I couldn’t resist ^^) which is great if you are on a tight budget. Either way, they are a great item to have in your closet. Plus they’re also great for hiding any evidence from eating too much during those long summer lunches ^^.
Ideal places to find Maxi Dresses (just to name a few):
Secondly is a good pair of quality sunglasses. Of course you can get plenty of cheaper alternative sunglasses, however, these are your eyes we’re talking about here and considering you only get one pair in your life, it’s good practice to take the best care of them possible. When choosing sunglasses, look for ones that are of a decently dark tint (not pitch black though :p) along with quality UV protection.
Good peripheral vision on both sides is also essential (meaning you can still look out both side of your eyes, kind of like a blind spot) especially if you drive with your sunglasses on, as I do…mainly during the early afternoon when the sun pretty much invades my vision and blinds me =.=.
As for style, this is completely up to you, as everyone has different tastes, just don’t compromise on quality.
Great Places to buy sunglasses:
Sunglass Hut (most recommended as they have the best variety)
Thirdly is a good decent bikini (or one-piece if you prefer). And I mean decent as in a pair that won’t do the following after one use: shrink/colour fade/rip easy/lose elasticity. As I keep mentioning, everyone has different styles and patterns that they prefer, hence why I’m just emphasizing this section on quality. If something is too good to be true, it probably is and will most likely fall apart after one use. And as with most swimwear, do remember to go down one size lower than what you are, as Lycra does stretch over a period of time. The longer it takes to stretch/wear out, the better the quality.
Great bikini stores:
City Beach (they have a factory outlet in Birkenhead Point, Sydney if you’re on a budget)
Next Up is an absolute essential for summer. A Hat. Which, aside from protecting you from the sun, whilst making you look super fabulous at the same time, Hats are also incredibly affordable, (just depends on your personal style) and you can get them pretty much anywhere.
Great Hat Places:
And lastly and most certainly not least is some trusty sunscreen. An absolutely vital item in anyone’s beach bag. When choosing a good sunscreen, I recommend anything that is 30+ or over, and also gives protection from both UVB and UV Rays, as both types are just as harsh as each other. If you live in Australia, the Cancer Council stores are the best place to go, however the Chemist also sell great quality sunscreens as well.
Great Sunscreen Brands:
For those who are about to experience summer in the next few weeks, (lucky you >.<) whether you’re preparing for the Summer holidays or looking to replace a few well loved summer essentials, I hope you all found this post informative in someway or another. If you have any other suggestions (or if I’ve missed anything out) feel free to leave them in the comments box below. In the meantime, I shall see you all in the next post ^^.
Have a wonderful week everyone ^^
