Forever New Statement Necklaces:
Greetings one and all,
Welcome to my first post ever on my fashion page ^^ I was actually going to do a long post, but I thought it might overwhelm you all, so I figured I’d start small instead.
Being that I am a sucker for necklaces (amongst many other things) I’m always on the lookout for new and interesting statement pieces, so you can imagine my excitement when I saw these two gorgeous things sitting on the rack at Forever New. Now I, like every other girl on the planet own way too many necklaces, bracelets etc…but seeing as I also have a massive soft spot for all things sparkly and well…bling…I couldn’t help myself….besides, who could resist these sparkly creations??…..really?. The necklace on the left is the ”Maia Pearl and Diamante Necklace” ($39.99 AUS) and the necklace was ($24.99 AUS) from memory; I’m sorry I don’t have the name….stupid me accidentally threw the price tag in the bin =.=….this is what happens when I see sparkly things >.>.
The Bag of My Dreams:
Hi Everyone ^^ hope you are all doing well and enjoying your week,
Just thought I’d do a post on my dream investment (come on, you’re not the only one who’s used ”investment” as an excuse to get a new bag) handbags. I was inspired to do this after strolling around the shops in the city over the past several days inspecting various types and designs (well, more like perving; kind of like the way any girl would if she saw a hot boy on the street ^.~). Fortunately, it is perfectly fine to physically touch and inspect handbags (pity this doesn’t include the hot boy on the street >.<) so here are my dream bags I would purchase if a) I win the lotto or b) marry a hot rich boy.
First up is the saffiano cuir leather tote handbag by Prada (one of my all time favourite designer labels ^^). I know it is very similar to the saffiano lux tote, however I found it seemed too stiff like for me, hence the reason why I love this bag as it’s a nice decent size (yes, I’m a sucker for big bags) plus the three separate compartments are really practical as it will keep everything organized (yes, I’m an organization freak….>.<) and in order, along with a back internal zip pocket on the back end of the bag with a pocket for your phone etc.
Second is the Coach Madison Leather Juliette. Aside from the fact is bucketloads cheaper than the Prada one above, the other reason why I love it is because it’s a really nice classic and simple design, with plenty of room inside to put
the kitchen sink all my stuff in, plus I think it would also be great for travel as it’s a good decent size to take on the plane. The tan colour is my favourite as I find I can wear it throughout all four seasons of the year, plus the leather is nice and soft so it would be comfortable for me to carry.
Thirdly is another Coach item, which is the legacy leather penny shoulder purse. The reason why I really like this is that it’s nice and compact, yet roomy at the same time (plus it fits my long wallet ^^ woo hoo!!) and the design is again classic and simple at the same time. Still deciding between black or blue….>.<.
Fourth up is a Marc by Marc Jacobs handbag. Sadly I’ve forgotten the style name of this (if anyone knows let me know in the comments below) but it’s a really good decent size, and great to put all my daily necessities in. I also love the fact that it’s a nice strong leather, as I have been known to throw my bags around a bit (when I’m in a rush to get to work or running errands) so it’ll be able to survive, plus it’s a comfortable fit on my shoulder where it’s not too tight but not loose, which might not suit everyone but for me I prefer it, especially for security/safety reasons, especially if I’m carrying something expensive or important inside. If you want a similar design, Kim Kardashian made a similar (actually it was practically the same) bag last year, which I have, naturally it’s not the greatest quality (it’s the Kardashians, come on lol) but it’s probably the closest I’ll get to this baby >.<.
Fifth is the Celine Phantom Tote. It’s an elegant and classic design, with thick strong handles to
put all my crap in put all my daily things in. Love, love this one….still can’t decide between the bone and the black one….>.>
And lastly, but certainly not least, is one that is probably on the dream list every fashionista and handbag lover out there. The Hermes Birkin Bag (35cm). Yes, it’s on my dream list too. Aside from the fact that it’s one of the most replicated handbags on the planet, I really like it (they start from around $10,000 (AUS) >.<) because it’s just a really good size, and who wouldn’t want to prance along the street carrying this on your arm?….
I know this was a random post, but after looking and inspecting various bags, this was my own favourites/dream list I came up with. If you have any other dream bags that you would love to own (if you have one of these, I’ll be your new best friend forever ^^ lol) feel free to leave your suggestions in the comment box below. Have a great day/night everyone ^^
Investment: Winter Essentials
Greetings everyone ^^ I hope the week is treating you well, as I write this post, I can hear my Mum’s ipad, which is on full volume, playing one of her many favourite Korean drama shows (I lost count after 5 shows =.=) in the kitchen, so hopefully I won’t be distracted by the constant crying/screaming/yelling noises that go on in pretty much EVERY Korean drama made.
So, today’s post is going to be all about worthy Winter fashion investment essentials, that I believe really seem to stand the test of time in terms of wear ability and style.
First, is the classic overcoat. Whether they be short, medium length or super long (like down to your ankles) they are a great classic item to have in your closet. Not only do they keep you nice and warm, but they look great as well. My personal favourites are the ones that go around knee length, as not only to they stop my thighs from turning into icicles, they also can be worn with pretty much anything from jeans to dresses and everything inbetween, whilst adding a classy, chic look to any outfit.
Naturally there are a wide range of overcoats out there on the market, ranging from the affordable to the relatively affordable, to the ”only-if-I-win-the-lotto-or-marry-someone-wealthy” range. Naturally the affordable ones are made from a much cheaper material such as acrylic/polyester/nylon, however if you are after something that you plan to use over a long period of time, I would suggest you go for the wool/cashmere blend varieties as not only do they keep you that extra bit warmer, but they are also quite durable as well.
Ideal places to get overcoats:
Next, on my Winter investment list is Boots. And I mean all kinds of boots ranging from the ones that sit around the ankles to the (controversial??) thigh-high, or ”pretty woman” inspired boots.
I personally tend to go for the high end range as they are made from a high quality leather, and tend to last much longer than the cheaper end ones. I have a pair of knee-high boots I bought from Sportsgirl about 5 years ago, made from very good quality cow hide leather and so far, they’ve been pretty amazing for me every Winter. Believe it or not, they are the only pair of knee-high boots I have….shockingly.
However, if you are on a tight budget, the cheaper ones are more affordable, but do bear in mind that the cheaper ones tend to cost more over time in the long run as they have to be replaced more often, unlike the more expensive variety which have much more longevity and are more affordable in terms of wear and tear. I recently bought a pair of tan boots a few years ago for $35 and after a little over two months, they fell apart, so I ended up having to throw them out.
As for style, it is pretty much a ”whatever floats your boat” as everyone has different tastes and needs; just keep in mind comfort is most important. If you’re in love with a pair that have your name written all over them but hurt like hell….then they’re clearly not meant for you.

High End: Designer Labels
Next up is the classic wool knit jumper. These never seem to go out of style because not only do they keep you super warm all through Autumn/Winter (especially during those cold winter mornings >.<) but also, they seem to go well with pretty much everything from skinny jeans to leggings. The designs are also pretty much endless from the fitted variety right up to the oversized range. I prefer mine a little oversized as I like to layer up during the colder end of Winter, however during Autumn I tend to go for the fitted variety. The colour range is also endless depending on your taste. For simple classic colours beige, grey or off white are great starters, as they go with pretty much everything. Affordability is also limitless as you can get pretty decent sweaters pretty much anywhere and everywhere, which is great for a Winter investment item.
In terms of materials, wool, along with cashmere is the best of the best, despite the sometimes hefty price tag, as it lets your skin breathe whilst keeping you warm at the same time. Cheaper materials such as Polyester, Nylon and Acrylic do just as good a job, and is great for those who are on a budget.
Ideal places for sweaters:
And last, but certainly not least is the classic, cardigan. Another item that not only doesn’t break the bank, but is also a great investment item that can be worn with pretty much everything in your closet. Dressed up or down, it’s a great item to have during the Autumn and early Winter. Just like the knit jumper, the cardigan is also available in a wide variety of materials depending on how much you want to spend. As I mentioned before wool and cashmere are at the top, so this is great for people who don’t buy cardigans very often, and like to get good longevity out of expensive items. While Acrylic, Polyester etc are not only more affordable, but do just as good a job in keeping you warm too.
Ideal places for cardigans:
Diane Von Furstenburg
And that wraps up this post. I hope you all enjoyed it, and found it helpful in some way or another. Naturally everyone is going to have different tastes, however this post is just simply to give an idea for anyone looking to get a new Winter wardrobe, (or thinking about updating a few things) what items are worthy to pay a little extra for, and what items you can get away with on a lower budget. If you have any other suggestions or ideas, feel free to leave them in the comments box.
Hope you all have a great week and I’ll see you in the next post ^^
